Redrow set for North Yorkshire nod

Plans for 204 houses on land off Mill Lane in Brayton, near Selby, are recommended for approval at the council’s meeting.

Redrow Homes is developing the site in partnership with David Harry Campey, and has been supported by planning consultancy Johnson Mowat and architect JRP.

Submitted in 2023, the plans have come under some scrutiny because the intended use for the land hasn’t yet been designated in the North Yorkshire Local Plan, which is still in the early stages of being developed.

The 20-acre site is made up of arable land, and is surrounded by housing and fields.

The proposed housing mix is for 50 two-bed, 71 three-bed, 47 four-bed, and 12 five-bed homes, 20 of which would be affordable.
