PwC completes Bradford move
The Big Four accountancy firm has relocated its operations locally to Muse’s One City Place, having signed for 27,000 sq ft in January.
PwC said the move will allow it to continue expansion in Bradford, where it first opened a base in 2019 comprising 66 people, a headcount that has grown to 179.
Instrumental in the relocation project were fit-out contractor ISG, M&E design firm Troup Bywaters + Anders, BDP’s interior design team, furniture firm Strategic Planning, Real World & tech firm The Cabling Group.
PwC marked the move with an event attended by senior partner Marco Amitrano, Bradford Council Leader, Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe and Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin.
Muse developed the building, Bradford’s first grade A space in more than a decade, for Bradford Council with direct support provided by WYCA and Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.
PwC signed as anchor tenant in January.
Andy Ward, PwC UK’s market senior partner for Leeds and Bradford, said: “This marks a significant milestone for our Bradford presence. When we moved here in 2019, it was primarily to create opportunity for young people in the city, but this has in turn created broader business opportunity.
“Our expansion demonstrates our commitment to our Bradford clients and the people who live in the district. You only have to step out onto the balcony of the office to see all the regeneration taking place, and we’re proud to be a part of that.”
Wider regeneration plans include Bradford City Village, where the council is working with ECF, the three-part joint venture between Muse, Homes England and L&G, while the Darley Street market – which will replace the Oastler and Kirkgate markets making way to enable City Village – is now lined up to open in spring 2025. A new railway station is also in the works.
Cllr Hinchcliffe said: “When PwC became our anchor tenant at One City Park, we knew that their investment showed just how important this office space is in the wider regeneration of Bradford. The partnerships across the region between local and central government, and private and public sector organisations are bringing opportunities and investment, which allow us to continue to grow.
“With Bradford district having achieved the UK City of Culture 2025 designation, we’re excited to demonstrate the district’s achievements and huge potential alongside partners like PwC.”
Amitrano said: “Expanding our Bradford office is testament to the city’s regeneration, the knock-on client opportunity, and the talent locally and within our team here. We’re proud to be part of this exciting city and support its growth and that of the wider region. Regional and inclusive growth is an area where the professional services sector can play a key role.”
