Pegasus adds to national energy & infrastructure planning team

Chris Binns has been appointed as planning director in Leeds, with a remit to spearhead the company’s ‘grid-led’ approach to energy project planning.

Binns joins from London-based Queequeg Renewables, where he led the UK Planning & GIS Team to deliver onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects.

Prior to that, he held roles at Stantec in Leeds as a senior planning consultant, in an off-shore role in Aberdeen at Bibby Offshore, and spent four years as an LPA planning officer at Leicestershire Council.

Having worked on projects concerned with the recently introduced National Energy System Operator initiatives for National Grid connections, Chris will manage clients and proposals to secure land to help meet NESO milestones.

Binns will work alongside energy planning director (nationwide) Chris Calvert, using his experience in local authority, planning consultancy and energy development to cover all stages of the planning process for Pegasus.

Calvert, said: “His vast experience across all aspects of the energy sector could not be more fitting with Pegasus’ commitment to every stage of development.”

Binns, said: “Having worked on the client side of the business, I’ve always been impressed with Pegasus’ output and ethos, and I’m excited to be working as one of the team to drive the business in its continued upward trajectory.”
