Paul Caddick named in King’s Honours
The Castleford-born chairman of Leeds Rhinos and Caddick Group has been awarded an MBE for services to sport in the New Year’s Honours List 2025.
Caddick took over ownership of Leeds Rhinos and the Headingley stadium in 1996, when the club was struggling both financially and competitively.
Along with chief executive Gary Hetherington, his ownership has seen the Rhinos win eight Super League titles and three World Club Challenge titles.
The club has also invested in its women and wheelchair teams.
As well as the trophies, Caddick Construction also undertook a major redevelopment of the stadium, with the £44m Emerald Headingley Stadium completed in 2019.
Designed by DLA Architecture, work included a new rugby South Stand and a replacement for the 90-year-old joint rugby and cricket ground stand that overlooks both sides of the venue.
The Leeds Rhinos Foundation was established in 2005 and has become a leading charity in the Leeds area.
Caddick said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank my team at both Caddick Group and Leeds Rhinos for the tremendous support they have given me over many years.
“Without this support, and the support of the Leeds Rhinos fans, I would not be receiving this award.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Hetherington for his support and tireless work over many years and, of course, my wife Alex for her patience and love, which has been the backbone of my involvement in both sport and business.”
