Rowntree’s redevelopment closes on completion

Contractor John Sisk & Son has reached the highest point of construction on the first building at the £68m UNCLE Leeds build-to-rent residential project.

Around 60 firms have been appointed to the procurement organisation’s four-year framework for refurbishment, construction, new build and modular buildings.

The consultancy will move 140 team members to a refurbished 8,000 sq ft office at 2 Whitehall Quay, relocating from the Boulevard at Leeds Dock.

The Norwegian firm is to create a facility for crop nutrition products and biostimulants close to its base in Pocklington.

Plans for public space and the de-culverting of part of the River Sheaf were approved unanimously by Sheffield’s planning committee, paving the way for further development in future.

John Sisk & Son has been appointed by the city council to deliver landscaping, green planting areas and lighting in Fargate.

The gardens have now closed ahead of a 14-month phase of redevelopment as the council looks to pave the way to host major events there.   

Town Centre Securities has appointed Matthew Wright, formerly Bruntwood’s head of commercial for Leeds and Birmingham, as associate director, estates.
