Any town or city that wants to be taken seriously on the world stage has to have some kind of animal sculpture trail at some point, and it’s great to see Doncaster bringing a festive touch to this particular field.

The council is seeking a firm to lead on the delivery of the East Bank Urban Village, its flagship city living project.

With consultation carried out in November, the partners have lodged plans for an £8m local centre, also set to feature Burger King, Starbucks and Greggs.  

The developer’s latest action in Attercliffe sees it pick up the 48,000 sq ft former department store, which remains home to 25 businesses.

Discussions with City of York Council and other stakeholders have led to some buildings being scaled down and moved back from the waterfront, as Helmsley Group seeks a 2024 consent for its masterplan. 

Associated British Ports has exchanged contracts to acquire the freehold of close to 230 acres of Enterprise Zone land known as Stallingborough Interchange, two miles from the Port of Immingham.

The developer has secured a 10-acre site off Europa Way, close to Junctions 33 and 34 of the M1, with plans to deliver a major logistics scheme.

A total of £6.9bn has now been pledged for the £11.5bn scheme, which will see an increase in electrified lines, more accessible stations, and more frequent services between Manchester and York.

With its £89m Brownfield Housing Fund now in year four of five, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority is pushing on all fronts to make sure it gets full value from the government programme.
