Operator announced for Sheffield’s largest padel centre

Following completion of the deal, Mileway has confirmed that Padel Bonito is behind the city’s largest venue for the sport, having signed a 10-year lease at the 60,000 sq ft City 7 unit on Parkway Avenue.

Initially agreed in April, the deal was handled by agents Knight Frank, CPP, and NorthCap, and followed a successful change-of-use application by Mileway.

City 7 is located around 1.5 miles to the east of the city centre and close to the A57, and sits on a three-acre site with office facilities and a large car park already provided.

The unit is owned by Blackstone-managed investment funds and has recently been refurbished, with Padel Bonito now set to commence fit-out works.

Andrew Jones, co-head of real estate at Mileway, said:  “City 7 is a great example of how we actively manage and reposition our portfolio to meet changing customer and community needs.

“By working closely with Padel Bonito, we’re bringing this property back into productive use, supporting a new destination that will add real value for Sheffield.

“This letting also underlines the versatility of well-located urban industrial spaces alongside more traditional logistics operations.”

Louis Lai, owner at Padel & Bonito, said:  “City 7 is the perfect site and provides us with an excellent location – giving us the space, visibility and accessibility we need to create Sheffield’s largest padel centre, and we’re excited to begin the fit-out and bring a new destination for sport and community activity to the city.”
