Oakapple plots 205-home Leeds development
The property group has submitted plans to replace the former Co-op Funeralcare site at Marsh Lane to the east of the city centre, close to The Playhouse.
Leeds-based Oakapple is looking to build a mix of apartments spread over 10-11 storeys, comprising 113 one-bed, 82 two-bed, and 10 three-bed homes.
Designed by Brewster Bye Architects and supported by DPP, the half acre site is currently made up of the vacant three-storey Co-Op and its associated parking, and is bounded by Marsh Lane, Crown Point Road, Brick Street, and Brussels Street.
Slightly further afield, the Leeds to York railway line is approximately 20 metres north of the site on the opposite side of Brussels Street, and the Rive Aire is around 300 metres to the south.
As well as the homes, the 152,000 GIA development will potentiall include a gym, lounge, reception area, games room, and TV rooms, and a rooftop terrace with seating and raised planters.
In terms of landscaping, PWP Design has designed a central courtyard within the site on the ground floor, which will consist of hard and soft landscaping and concrete paving.
