North Yorkshire to consider Northallerton development

Miller Homes’ 109-house scheme will go before the council next Thursday, with permission expected to be granted.

Outline permission already exists for up to 145 homes on the 12-acre site, located on agricultural land to the north of Mowbray Road and east of Stokesley Road.

Sten Architecture has worked out the landscaping and layout details for the application, which includes a 2.5 acre to the south which will act as a SuDS basin and drainage, as well as public open space.

A play area will be situated in the eastern part of the site and the housing mix will be divided between 1- to five-bedroom homes, 27 of which will be affordable.

Miller Homes have been selected by the Church Commissioners for England as the preferred developer for the site.

ELG Planning also worked on the project, which, documents say, is in keeping with the semi-rural character of Northallerton.
