North Yorkshire to approve Eggborough development
Persimmon’s plans for 107 homes on nine acres of agricultural land off Low Eggborough Road are set for a green light this week, in a scheme supported by S+SA Architects and DPP.
The job will include the demolition of a farm house and agricultural buildings, along with the creation of a new access road and landscaping.
Located six miles south west of Selby, Eggborough lies at the intersection of the A19 and A645, while the M62 lies to the south of the village.
The proposed housing mix consists of eight one-bedroom, 38 two-bedroom, 40 three-bedroom, and 21 four-bedroom homes, with 10% of those designated as affordable.
Persimmon’s plans will add to the new housing proposed for Eggborough, which includes Banks’ 1,500-home development to the west of the village, supported by DLA Architecture and Lichfields.
The developer’s masterplan for the 173-acre site to the west of the village was first proposed in 2023 and are due to come before the council before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Taylor Wimpey received permission to build 110 homes in the village at the beginning of the year.
