NG Bailey leases Crossbay’s Shawcross 115
The engineering firm has taken the 115,000 sq ft unit near Leeds and will use it to deliver services for Tata Group’s £4bn Gigafactory project.
Located in Shawcross Business Park just off Junction 40 of the M1, the lease is one of the largest industrial deals done in Yorkshire this year.
Crossbay was advised by Knight Frank and Carter Towler and the smaller second unit, Shawcross 55, remains available to let.
Crossbay is the urban logistics arm of pan-European real estate investment company MARK Capital Management.
After acquiring the warehouse it split the asset into two units and refurbished it to EPC A standard, part of a focused drive to target sustainability-led developments in its CapEx programme.
Tata is building a £4bn EV battery factory at the Gravity Smart Campus in Somerset, constructed by its subsidiary Agratas. It will produce batteries for Tata’s brands, including Jaguar Land Rover.
Devan du Plooy, head of UK, Crossbay, said: “This agreement represents the strength of demand for high-quality last mile assets that are strategically located, sustainable, and designed to meet the requirements of a very wide range of occupiers.”
