Muller to build Huddersfield care home

Muller Property Group has secured outline planning consent for the creation of a 60-bed residential care home in Huddersfield.

The site is less than an acre and is located in the Lindley suburb of Huddersfield in a residential area. The site fronts Thorncliffe Street to the east and Brian Street runs to the south.

Walsingham Planning advised on the planning process. The scheme has been designed by ADG.

Colin Muller, chief executive of Muller Property Group, said: “This is a positive step forward in this current planning environment. We have been working to meet the needs of the ageing UK nation and therefore freeing up necessary housing, we found Huddersfield had a large shortfall in care home beds.”

The development will be operated by Torsion Care. Chris Burns, senior land manager at Torsion Care, added: “We thank Muller for their support in reaching exchange and we look forward to bringing a much-needed care home to the growing needs of Lindley and the surrounding area.”
