M&S Wheatley Doncaster expands by 20,000 sq ft

The retail park outlet’s foodhall recently tripled in size to 32,000 sq ft, and now the retailer has opened another unit next door for its fashion and beauty products.

Stainforth Construction has been delivering the project for British Land, owner of the Wheatley Store in South Yorkshire.

Lichfields has guided the project through the planning process, with Stride Treglown on board as architect and Dragonfly Consulting advising on noise issues.

Located on Wheatley Centre Shopping Park, the new unit will house womenswear, menswear, children’s clothing, and the brand’s beauty ranges.

The brand recently closed its centre of town location at Baxtergate and Frenchgate in central Doncaster, as shopping trends indicate an increase in popularity of retail outlet centres.

M&S Wheatley Doncaster is one of 12 M&S stores across the UK undergoing a renewal this financial year.

Store manager Claire Cunliffe said of the fashion & beauty launch: “We’ve had such a great response from customers to our new foodhall and now we can truly say, we are delivering the very best of M&S Food and Fashion.

“Thank you to all of our customers for their patience this year while work has taken place and to my whole team for all their hard work.”
