‘Middle of Lidl’ comes to Brough

Construction has started on the brand’s first store in the East Yorkshire town, expected to open early next year.

With a sales area of 14,000 sq ft, the Welton Road shop will of course include the bakery, the practically legendary Middle of Lidl aisle, and baby changing facilities.

Sustainability credentials include solar panels on the roof, and EV charging points in the car park.

The company has also announced a recent pay increase for its workers, meaning employees will receive one of the highest rates of pay in the sector.

Liam Schofield, regional head of property at Lidl GB, said: “This state-of-the-art store will mean local shoppers no longer have to travel to Hull to enjoy our high-quality, affordable offering. Our new location on Welton Road reflects our ongoing commitment to making Lidl’s affordable offering accessible to households across the country.”
