Leeds serves up approval for Dishoom
The Bombay-inspired dining destination has been granted permission to convert the 8,000 sq ft former Flannels store on Vicar Lane into a restaurant.
Owned by property company Town Centre Securities, the building is located between Victoria Gate and Victoria Quarter shopping centres.
TCS’s work to redevelop the building has now commenced, with the restaurant expected to open in late spring.
Dishoom will be set across two floors and alongside its signature dishes, such as Bacon Naan Roll and House Black Daal, the chefs will be creating a dish created exclusively for Leeds.
The restaurant will keep the chain’s interior style of Bombay’s Irani cafés, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The Leeds restaurant will also continue Dishoom’s commitment to donating a meal to a child in need for every meal purchased, via the Magic Breakfast charity in the UK and the Akshaya Patra Foundation in India.
Across its 11 UK cafés, Dishoom has already donated more than 25m meals.
