Leeds retail destinations contribute £308m to local economy, report finds
Trinity Leeds and White Rose Shopping Centre have also supported 6,347 jobs during 2025, according to a social and economic impact paper published by Landsec.
The report found that the two retail destinations generated a combined economic contribution of £308.1m across the year through the activities of Landsec, occupiers and other businesses operating at the centres.
Landsec’s report also states that Trinity Leeds and White Rose generated £1.7m in social value through community investment and employment initiatives, including grants, bursaries, volunteering programmes, and local partnerships.
The report highlights environmental performance alongside economic and social measures, with Trinity Leeds reducing its energy intensity by 49% during the year and White Rose by 37%.
Both centres have continued to attract investment from occupiers. Recent projects at Trinity Leeds include store expansions by Vision Express and LEGO, alongside new openings from Lane7, The Fragrance Shop, Footasylum, schuh, Diamonds Factory and Jerk Junction.
At White Rose, Primark is progressing with a major expansion, following the recent upsizing of Superdrug, while Volcano Falls Adventure Golf has opened and Hotel Chocolat and Rassam’s are due to join the scheme.
Landsec said both destinations also continue to support local businesses and community initiatives through programmes such as Made in Yorkshire, alongside ongoing investment in their retail and leisure offer.
