Leeds City College looks to utilise vacant office space
Owned by Luminate Education Group, LCC has applied for a change of use for the six-storey waterfront office building on West Dock into educational space, to prop up its growth strategy.
With a GIA of 86,000 sq ft, the application was submitted by JLL and indicates the college may continue to flex between using the building for office and educational space over the next 10 years.
Surrounded by offices, apartments, cafés, and the Royal Armouries museum, the prominent building is currently vacant and could be used to teach up to 1,000 students on site.
LEG is also expanding via the new Pudsey Sixth Form College and the addition of two buildings at Mabgate campus.
A £27m contract was awarded to GMI to expand the college’s Mabgate campus at the end of 2023, while Caddick was given the £11.4m contract to deliver Pudsey Sixth Form last October.
