Leeds 140 letting adds to Yorkshire industrial boom
Avison Young acted for the tenant at the 140,825 sq ft unit, while GV & Co represented landlord Broadland Properties.
The unit has been let to a local employer on a 15-year term.
Located on Whitehall Road Industrial Estate, the property comprises 99,000 sq ft of warehouse space, as well as offices on the ground and first floor.
The estate is surrounded by high-density residential, employment, and retail, with nearby occupiers including Restore Records Management, Mone Bros, and Northgate Vehicle Hire.
Yorkshire’s industrial and logistics market has recorded a bumper start to the year, with grade A big-box take up reaching 1.2m sq ft in Q1, exceeding the total take-up figures for the whole of 2024 (712,000 sq ft).
Jake Pygall, director – industrial, at Avison Young Leeds, commented: “This letting of 140,000 sq ft of prime space in Leeds is testament to Yorkshire’s fast-growing industrial market following a difficult 2024, and it is encouraging to see momentum continuing as we move towards the second half of the year.
“The unit is ideally located to support the new tenant’s ambitious growth plans, and it’s great to see a local business expand its operations.”
Gavin Ritchie, director at GV & Co added: “It was a pleasure to be involved in both the lease surrender and the new letting of this prominent industrial building.
“Securing the new tenant was a great team effort, especially given the complexity of the transaction.”
