Leading comedy operator comes to Leeds
The Glee is opening its sixth UK venue on 123 Albion Street, taking 11,000 sq ft in the 400-capacity venue.
Fox Lloyd Jones facilitated the deal between both The Glee and Town Centre Securities.
Work on a purpose-built fit-out is currently underway, with features including a stage, theatre-style seating, and appropriate lighting and acoustics.
Opening this spring, The Glee will provide a weekly programme of comedy and live music.
Former acts have included Peter Kay, Michael McIntyre, Jo Brand, Lee Evans, Sarah Millican, and Jack Whitehall, as well as Adele and Mumford & Sons.
Louise Larking, director at Fox Lloyd Jones, said: “Glee is an exceptional brand, and their presence at 123 Albion Street will undoubtedly bring an added energy to the city’s entertainment scene. We are confident this partnership will be a tremendous success for all involved.”
The Glee founder Mark Tughan said: “It’s no secret that Yorkshire folk like a good laugh and Leeds is a city we’ve long been looking at as a location to further expand The Glee brand.”
