Last unit available at Waverley’s Olive Lane
Harworth’s retail development at its flagship former colliery site in South Yorkshire completed earlier this year and is already home to a mix of F&B and retail outlets.
So far, tenants include SpecSavers, Little Olives Nursery, Tesco, Wingers, Hall Court Veterinary Practice, Karobar Restaurant, Canary Bar and Waverley Community Centre, with Harworth in negotiations with a restaurant and café operator for a further two units.
One unit of 1,420 sq ft remains available, marketed by Knight Frank.
Harworth has been developing Waverley since 2011, the site includes more than 300 acres of green space, a primary school and 2.1m sq ft of business accommodation and is on track to deliver around 4,000 high value jobs.
Kitty Hendrick, from the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, said: “The retail development, which also includes a medical centre, currently serves around 1,865 homes, expected to rise to 8,000 people and more than 3,000 homes by 2029.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for an established or expanding business to tap into a growing community and become part of one of the newest urban areas in the region, close to established businesses and new homes.”
Michael Jameson, senior asset manager at Harworth said: “The retail element of our development is showing how well occupied and diverse high streets which include shops, restaurants, and other useful amenities can contribute to our communities.
“Not only do they help people access goods, services, and support when they need it, but they also increase the sense of community and social connection by serving as social hubs to enhance community ties.
“Shopping locally also reduces carbon footprints and waste, promoting sustainability and supporting local producers.”
So far at Waverley, a range of homes has been built by Avant, Taylor Wimpey, Sky-House, Barratt Homes, and Harron Homes with the site expanding at a rate of around 160 homes per year.
