Keepmoat breaks ground on £25m Hornsea estate
The housebuilder is delivering 158 homes in the East Yorkshire town, more than 50% of which will be affordable.
Keepmoat is working alongside social housing provider Together Housing to provide 84 homes for affordable rent or shared ownership.
Located on Rolston Road, more than half of the homes have been pre-sold, highlighting the need for housing in the area.
The development will be known as The Kilns, with a mix of two-, three- and four-bed houses.
As part of the S106 agreement, Keepmoat will contribute £260,000 towards local schools and £195,000 towards outdoor sports provision in the area.
Daniel Crew, divisional chair at Keepmoat said: “We’re pleased to be delivering much-needed housing stock to the local community.
“Alongside this, we’re proud to be investing over £450,000 into the local area to support schools and sports facilities, demonstrating our commitment to building not just homes, but thriving communities.
“This is a fantastic example of how Keepmoat unlocks land to deliver real benefit and we’re excited to be investing in Hornsea’s future.”
Dai Howells, assistant director of development at Together Housing added: “We’re committed to meeting Hornsea’s growing housing demand while supporting the community’s long-term growth and supporting those who are being priced out of the current market, to live and work in this growing community.
“Our aim is that this new neighbourhood will offer more than housing, it will become a vibrant, supportive community that brings people together and provides lasting benefits for generations to come.”
