Hull seeks residential scheme feedback

The council approved plans for a 200-home development on land on Colonial Street in July 2023, and has started a two-week public consultation.

Overseen by consultants Stantec, the council-owned land sits behind St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, and plans include the construction of multi-storey city centre apartments, open space, and redevelopment of the empty south wing of Earle House.

The scheme is being funded through the council’s One Public Estate capital programme.

Chris Jackson, director of regeneration at the council, said: “This scheme demonstrates the council’s commitment to high quality, sustainable city centre living.

“Gaining the public’s views on these proposals is vital to ensure that they fit in with the needs and requirements of our residents, so we appreciate people giving up their time to share their thoughts with us.”

The public can provide their feedback for two weeks until Sunday 11 May on a dedicated website here.

Hull’s regeneration plans will be discussed by Gillian Osgerby, interim assistant director for major projects, Hull City Council, and Anna Couch, urban design studio director at urban landscape designer Planit at the upcoming East Yorkshire Development Update.
