Honey secures Doncaster permission

The developer will build a £53m estate on 16 acres in Bessacarr, adding 184 homes to South Yorkshire’s housing stock.

Located off Cammidge Way and next to Bawtry Road, the housing mix will comprise two- to four-bed homes, including terraces, semi-detached and detached properties.

Opal will feature 17 of Honey’s house type designs and will form part of the Doncaster Local Plan, which requires a total of 15,640 new homes to be built by 2035.

Sheffield-headquartered Honey will start work on the development next month, with the first houses expected to be complete by autumn.

Honey has analysed consumer insights and trends to inform its house type designs, such as the flexible use of all living spaces.

Honey chief executive officer Mark Mitchell, said: “It’s fantastic to have received planning permission for Opal, enabling us provided buyers looking to move in or to Bessacarr with high-specification new homes.

“There has been strong levels interest from a range of buyers looking for homes which combine substance, style, and sustainability since we first unveiled our plans for the site.”
