Honey makes a start in Maltby

The Sheffield-headquartered housebuilder is making headway with its £46m, 185-home development in the town near Rotherham, following outline approval last year.

Located on Tickhill Road, 25% of the homes will be affordable.

The land was previously designated as Green Belt, but was released in Rotherham’s 2018 Local Plan and was subsequently marketed by Hargreaves Land.

The site, which has been named ‘Jet’, consists of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes including terraces, semi-detached, and detached.

Honey is now on site, and expects the first residents to move in this winter.

The housebuilder is backed by private equity firm Alchemy Partners and its Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund IV.

Honey chief executive officer, Mark Mitchell, commented: “There is strong demand for high-specification new homes in Maltby and our development will give local buyers the opportunity to own one of our thoughtfully designed homes.

“Jet is an excellent addition to our growing development footprint in South Yorkshire and will create a new and thriving community.”
