Green light tipped for 2m sq ft Barnsley employment park
Newlands Development’s plans for land west of Goldthorpe are recommended for approval at the council’s upcoming meeting.
Also on the project team is UMC Architects and JEH Planning.
Plans were submitted in December 2023 for the project, which includes warehouses, offices and gatehouses on four separate, self-contained plots.
Engineering infrastructure works including access roads, earthworks, drainage, a flood compensation area, and landscaped areas are also part of the project.
Planning documents note that the buildings will be sustainable and will provide employment opportunities for the wider Dearne Valley region.
The plot is located next to the A635, which is nine miles from the M1 and four miles from the A1.
