GenesisCare plans advance at Thorpe Park
The £42m conversion of a 27,000 sq ft office into a specialist cancer treatment facility has been approved, and is due to open in the mixed-use Leeds development in 2026.
Designed by IDPartnership, the state-of-the-art oncology and haematology facility will be the largest in GenesisCare’s UK network of treatment centres, and will house two of the world’s most advanced radiotherapy treatment systems.
Cushman & Wakefield acted for GenesisCare in securing 1200 Century Way, part of Scarborough Group’s commercial and retail scheme.
The facility will be able to pesonalise radiotherapy treatments in real-time, using MRI and CT imaging, which enables treatment to be precisely tailored to a patient’s specific cancer.
Leeds will be one of the few centres worldwide able to offer this approach. Previously, the closest centre with this capability was in Oxford.
