Former Hull police station comes to market
The property comprises around 39,000 sq ft of office and call centre accommodation on a site of more than 2.5 acres and is being marketed as a prime development opportunity.
Located on the south side of Hessle Road within a predominantly medium- to high-density residential area, the site is close to Priory Grange Care Home and nearby retail provision including Sainsbury’s and Aldi.
The Hessle Road police station, built in the 1980s, served as a base for Humberside Police until its closure was announced in 2019.
The purpose-built facility opened in 1985 as a sub-divisional headquarters on the site of the former Priory railway sidings, developed at a cost of around £1.4m.
The complex included a major incident room, equipment stores, conference facilities, garage space, a canteen and social club, along with a residential wing accommodating 30 single officers.
The building has remained vacant since the force declared it surplus to requirements, following the relocation of operations to a new facility at Melton West Business Park, which opened in May 2022.
Now on the market through Sanderson Weatherall, offers are invited for the freehold interest, although no guide price has been disclosed.
