First phase of Providence Park industrial site complete

The £12m redevelopment of the 75,000 sq ft former Universal Mills site in Keighley town centre is owned by private developer Rock Structural.

Providence Park will be home to five buildings that will house up to 23 industrial units ranging from 1,600 sq ft to 9,000 sq ft.

Part of an original mill building has been retained and converted to a unit suitable for a café or other retail use, under scheme architect Bridget Hansford.

Work has involved the demolition of previous buildings and structures, full site remediation, installation of surface water management systems, and the construction of units to let.

Located on the corner of Dalton Lane and Bradford Road, the industrial park adjoins Keighley College Campus and will be partly used to house a manufacturing, engineering, and future technologies hub for students.

Work started on the project in April 2023 and has received £6.5m of grants through the Keighley Towns Fund.

Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s executive member for planning, regeneration and transport said: “Demand for employment and high-quality commercial sites such as this is huge across Keighley and the whole of the Aire Valley, so this development is much needed and welcomed.”
