Esh appointed on New Earswick housing
The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust is delivering 123 affordable homes in the village north of York, with construction due to start in January.
Homes England is supporting the scheme, which will see 117 homes built on land north of Willow Bank and six on a former garage site at Acacia Avenue.
Site preparation will begin later this year, with completion scheduled for May 2028.
The homes will be made up of one- and two-bed apartments and two- and three-bed houses, with 60% available for social rent and 40% through shared ownership.
JRHT has set itself the target of delivering 1,000 affordable homes by 2030.
Sharon Brookes, director of asset management at the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, said: “Everyone deserves a good home, and too many people have been locked out of affordable housing for too long.
Simon Woodward, operations director at Esh Construction, said: “We’re proud to be delivering our flagship housing scheme in Yorkshire.
“The project marks our first in collaboration with the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, and we’re excited to bring our expertise to a project that will make a real difference in York.”
