Dransfield plots M&S Foodhall at Fox Valley
Plans have been submitted by the retail developer for a new-build 24,000 sq ft store at the north Sheffield shopping park.
Dransfield Properties, owner of Fox Valley Retail Park in Stocksbridge, has submitted a planning application that would complete the run of stores at the eastern end of the centre, alongside Home Bargains, Iceland, Aldi and Costa Coffee.
The store would include a click & collect point and is expected to stock the full range of M&S Food products, including the price-benchmarked ‘Remarksable Value’ essentials, and Eat Well options.
An estimated 60 new jobs would be created if planning permission is granted, joining the more than 4,000 colleagues M&S employs in Yorkshire. The new building will cover 24,000 sq ft. with a 16,000 sq ft. sales area.
The foodhall would be housed in a new building on the land next to Costa.
M&S is aiming to open in autumn 2026, as Fox Valley celebrates its 10th birthday.
Changes this year at Fox Valley have seen the launch of the UK’s first new format Gallery furniture and homewares store, opened by family-owned company Shackletons. Medi-spa The Wellness Space also opened in May.

Great news about M and S coming to Fox Valley. Would be even better if they could incorporate some of their clothing lines! We read how well this side of their business is doing especially since incorporating other brands.
Shoppers from the Barnsley area would appreciate this since the closure of their town centre one and the new out of town food hall isn’t conveniently situated for many. Surely a section in the new Fox Valley store would be profitable for M and S and customers alike?
