Charity expands into Joseph’s Well in Leeds
Together Women has taken 5,000 sq ft at J Pullan & Sons’ former factory and mill on Hanover Walk.
The move from 13 Park Square East comes as the charity, which supports women and girls facing complex challenges, reaches its 20th year in operation.
Pullans has delivered a design and fit out of the workspace, which includes meeting rooms, consultation rooms, showers, and kitchen facilities.
Located close to Leeds railway station, Carter Towler and WSB are joint marketing agents for the building.
Location and accessibility were key factors in the search for a new base as many of the women supported by the charity relying on public transport.
It comes shortly after the news that Pullans will build a 14-storey, 256-bed PBSA scheme on the site, appointing McLaren Construction to deliver the project.
This student accommodation will be the first significant diversification of the estate, and will be known as The Tower.
J Pullan & Sons acquired Joseph’s Well in 1979, and has since converted the former factory and mill into office space as well as building a headquarters for Hammond Suddards in 1990.
Other tenants include healthcare provider Practice Plus, marketing agency CreativeRace, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Rokaiya Khan, chief executive at Together Women, said: “Joseph’s Well is the right home for us in this next chapter. It gives us a great space in the heart of Leeds to grow our work and build even stronger, more joined-up support around women.
“As we reach 20 years of Together Women, this move is about looking forward – strengthening what we do, supporting our staff and creating a place where we can do even more for the women we work with.”
