CBRE brings Sheffield’s Head Post Office to market

The building is let to Sheffield Hallam University, forming part of its city centre campus, and is being marketed for £6.2m.

Constructed in 1910, it was the city’s main post office for around 90 years and underwent a significant £8.5m refurbishment in 2015.

Hallam University has since continued to invest in equipment, machinery and the space.

Located on Fitzalan Square, it sits in the middle of the city’s £5.5m knowledge gateway project and is close to Sheffield Railway station.

Currently occupied by the art and design courses, the building has around 42,000 sq ft split over three-storeys and is let on a 35 year lease.

In terms of rental income, it stands at £675,000/year which works out to £16.17/sq ft and has 113 years left on the leasehold.
