Capital&Centric lodges Fitzwilliam plans
The next stage of its Mesters’ Village masterplan, the developer has submitted its application for 192 BTR apartments on the scrubland site in Sheffield’s Devonshire Quarter.
Designed by Buttress, the two five- and six-storey buildings are close to C&C’s Eyewitness Works and Ceylon Works developments, and will have shared access to amenity spaces with those schemes so as to create a connected community.
The wider project team consists of Urbana, Cumming Group, Civic Engineers, Planit, Cundall, and fire engineer Jensen Hughes.
The project will have 3,000 sq ft of amenity space and just over 1,000 sq ft of commercial space on the ground floor, while outside there will be 10,000 sq ft of landscaped areas.
The landscape strategy centres on a private residents’ courtyard enclosed within the development, accessed through gated entrances from the north and west.

To the south, the scheme maintains a visual link with Milton Street, using terracing and layered planting to create a secure and edge. A rooftop terrace will also provide additional outdoor space for residents.
In terms of affordable housing, a suggested 12 units will be available at a discounted rate (6.25%).
