Caddick takes full ownership of Moda
The construction group has bought out Generate Land’s share of the BTR platform.
Now Moda Living is 100% part of the wider Caddick Group, which includes land supply, development, and construction, it hopes to strengthen its offer to partners via greater scale and resources.
According to the company, the newly streamlined ownership means that Moda can focus on growing its portfolio across the UK.
Moda Living was formed by Caddick and Generate Land in 2014, and focused on building a regional BTR business at a time when most of that market was London-centric.
It now has £2bn of assets under management and £1.1bn under construction.
It caters to both residential and student accommodation, supplying both to Caddick’s £300m SOYO development in Leeds.
Located on the south side of York Road, close to Leeds Playhouse, construction began on SOYO in 2019.
The first two buildings, Moda New York Square, opened in 2022, comprising 551 studios and apartments.
Currently, the 291-bed PBSA is being delivered through a joint venture alongside Aermont.
