Caddick completes 94,000 sq ft Haribo warehouse

The 32-acre site in Castleford will house increased volumes of raw materials, packaging, and the finished product to meet rising demand.

The Harris Partnership is the architect for the expansion project, which was greenlit by Wakefield Council’s January planning committee in January 2024.

Haribo has been working at Whitwood Common Lane since 2012, and made a £22m investment in its manufacturing facilities there in 2021, followed by this £35m expansion.

Haribo’s strong financial year saw it achieve a record market share of 22.6%, and a 7.7% increase in turnover – £291.6m for the year ending 31 December 2024, up from £270.8m the previous year.

Pre-tax profit also increased for the company, up to £40.8m from £31.4m in 2023.

Dunhills is the manufacturer and distributor of the sweets, and operates under both the Haribo and Maoam brands.
