Banks plots 130 Great Ayton homes
The developer is bringing forward plans for an estate on 16 acres to the west of the North Yorkshire village.
Located on the northern side of the A173, the development will include 30% affordable housing.
Areas of public open space and green corridors will be included in the plans, as well as a new access road from the A173.
Public consultations are being held towards the end of the year ahead of a formal application, which is expected to be submitted by the end of the year.
If approved, the developer is hoping to start on site before the end of 2028.
Jamilah Hassan, community relations manager at the Banks Group, says: “This will be a high-quality development in which we’re looking to create a range of sustainable, contemporary homes in a great location that is well connected to local facilities.
“The high proportion of affordable housing it includes will also give more people an even greater opportunity to stay in or move to the area.
“Feedback from local people is essential in helping us finalise all our development designs and we’re holding these community events to give the people of Great Ayton the chance to speak directly to our project team about all the different aspects of our proposals.”
Both public consultations will take place at Great Ayton Village Hall on the High Street, from 4-7.30pm on Tuesday 23 June and 11-3.30pm on Tuesday 3 June.
