Bankfoot APAM proposes Leeds resi
Working for site owner NPV Leeds, the development manager has submitted plans for 170 rental apartments on the site of Zurich House, off Water Lane.
The apartments, for which consultation has been carried out, will range from one to three bedrooms.
Planning consultancy AshtonHale filed the plans. NPV is a Guernsey-registered business.
Consultation in early June showed the developer’s preferred route is demolition of the under-utilised office block, to be replaced by a new-build of nine to 11 storeys.
Bankfoot said that extensive liaison has taken place with Leeds City Council to develop a scheme that reflects the site’s industrial heritage and its surroundings within Holbeck and Canal Wharf Conservation Areas, within the city’s South Bank.
Feedback on the proposed materials has been taken on board and careful consideration will be given to the choice of brick used, the firm said.
Emily Myers, senior development manager for Bankfoot APAM, said: “We would like to thank everyone that took the time to provide feedback on the plans. This proposal represents a significant commitment to high-quality new homes in Leeds to allow a broad mix of people to enjoy city living and all Leeds has to offer.”
