Avant’s £23.5m Great Houghton scheme goes before council
Barnsley is set to approve the 104-home scheme at its meeting next week, set on a 7.6 acre plot off the village’s high street.
Approximately 8km east of Barnsley town centre, the site is surrounded by other residential sites to the south and west, and fields to the north and east.
The housebuilder submitted plans for the scheme in January, and during the course of the application has reduced the number of homes from 108 to 104 dwellings, made internal layout changes, and amended internal and external road designs as a result of the consultation responses received.
Harron Homes previously submitted a planning application for the site in 2021.
The proposed housing mix is made up of two-storey, one- to four-bed homes, of which 10% will be affordable.
