Approval secured for next phase of Aire Park

Leeds City Council has given the go-ahead for a further 116 apartments at Vastint’s 24-acre mixed-use district.

Located in the South Bank area of Leeds, the developer submitted plans for the 15-storey building last year. Plot MU3B will be turned into a mix of one- to three-bedroom apartments alongside commercial ground floor space. Each apartment will have a balcony and cycle parking, communal resident areas, and outdoor spaces are also included in the designs.

The wider Aire Park development is centred around an eight-acre public park, and once complete – due in 2032 – will comprise 1,350 homes alongside more than 1m sq ft of residential, commercial, and office space on the former Tetley Brewery site.

Curtins has been providing civil and structural engineering and geo-environmental services for more than three years on this phased masterplan, working alongside architects Cartwright Pickard and Ryder.

Penny Cameron, managing director of Vastint UK, said: “Securing planning consent for this latest residential phase marks another important milestone in the ongoing delivery of Aire Park and the wider regeneration of Leeds South Bank.

“We are pleased to continue progressing our long-term vision for creating a vibrant new mixed-use district in the heart of Leeds.

“These 116 new homes will play a key role in bringing more people into the city centre and supporting the growth of a diverse and thriving community at Aire Park.

“We now look forward to bringing forward this next phase and continuing to contribute to the long-term transformation of this part of the city.”
