And finally… supermarkets, stairlifts, and sofas make Yorkshire’s Rich List
The Sunday Time’s annual round-up of wealth has been published, and among them the top 10 titans in Yorkshire. In first place is the Shepherd family of Portakabin fame, with £1.35bn.
The founder of DFS, Lord Kirkham, is next, valued at £1.14bn, followed by heirs to the Morrison fortune Andrea Shelley, William Morrison, and Eleanor Kernighan with a combined £933m.

In sixth place, and not to be confused with his father at entry number four, is Mark Healey – heir to Wren Kitchens, and proof that a kitchen really is the heart of the home.
Number seven for Yorkshire is Philip Meeson, executive chairman of Jet2 and worth £626m, and in at number eight is Lawrence Tomlinson, the ‘care-home king’ and owner of LNT Group (£525m).
Rounding off the list is Steve Parkin, founder of Clipper Logistics and worth £515m, and last but definitely not least, is Jon and Susie Seaton, founders of Twinkl, an online educational resources platform and worth £486m.
