Allsop adds investment boss
Richard Brooke has left Cushman & Wakefield to join the consultancy as a partner, leading on commercial investment activity in the north of England.
Based in the Leeds office, Brooke will report to Jeremy Hodgson, head of Allsop’s national investment team.
Before joining Allsop, Richard led C&W’s Yorkshire and North East capital markets team, advising a client roster including Abrdn, Hines, Europa Capital and Leeds City Council.
Recent career highlights include advising London & Scottish Property Investment Management on the off-market acquisition of three office buildings in Yorkshire for £26m; facilitating the sale of a multi-let industrial scheme for £29.3m for LCC; and working for Hines on its £20m acquisition of a 200,000 sq ft distribution facility in Wakefield.
At Allsop, Brooke will work on office, logistics, mixed-use and assets with potential for a change of use, while working closely with Allsop’s specialist residential transactional and living markets department.
Brooke said: “I couldn’t resist the opportunity to become a part of Allsop’s growth story, both in Leeds and on a national level, at a time when much of the industry is continuing to find its feet.
“The firm is well known for being one of the most prolific dealmakers in the country, and I look forward to working alongside colleagues to provide advice that ensures our clients secure the very best deals possible in a market that is constantly shifting.”
The residential transactional team in Leeds has recently added Jack Robson, Brad Harris and Brett Harrison, and along with welcoming Brooke, national partner Jeremy Hodgson said there are further plans for growth.
He said: “Richard is one of the most respected commercial property brokers in the north of England for a very good reason.
“His appointment to our Leeds office will complement our existing national investment expertise, primarily based out of London, and ensure that we have the national coverage that our clients increasingly seek.
“As our Leeds office continues to grow, bringing in new talent across commercial and residential transactional and advisory services, we are constantly seeking to further improve how we deliver on behalf of our clients amid a challenging economic environment. We plan to continue recruiting across our business streams to secure UK real estate’s top talent, with Richard’s appointment the latest milestone in achieving that goal.”
